Over the next two days, the Catawba Ridge girls’ golf team will be playing in the 4A state championship tournament in Hilton Head.

The 36-hole tournament on Oct. 26 and 27 will be held on the Barony Course at Port Royal Golf Club. The course is a par-72, 5,183-yard course designed by George Cobb over 40 years ago.

May River won the Lower State title with a 310-team score and AC Flora won the Upper State title with a 327-team score. The Copperheads finished third last week in the 4A Upper State tournament behind AC Flora and Pickens. Currently of the 16-team tournament, Catawba Ridge is coming in with the fifth lowest score of those teams that qualified for the tournament with their 346 from last week’s tournament.  

The Copperheads will tee off Monday at 8:45 a.m. with Eileen Zeoli leading things off, followed by Katherine Mann at 8:54 a.m., Kate Gilmer at 9:03 a.m. and Aylia Santiago at 9:12 a.m.

Nation Ford will have one golfer – No. 1 player Vivian Harris – who will be playing in the 5A state championship Oct. 26 and 27 at the Country Club of Lexington. That course is a par-72 course that is 5,666-yards long.
