
The Nation Ford boys’ golf team won the Fort Mill Championship between the three local high school teams at Fort Mill Golf Club.
Nation Ford shot a 296 in the 18-hole tournament and was led by an even par 72 from Oliver LaPointe, who was the medalist. His scores were followed by one over par 73 from both Carter Smith and Connor Mills. James Wachtel finished the scoring for the Falcons with a 78.
Fort Mill came in second with a 314 and was led by a one over 73 from Morgan Bayko. Noah Jones finished with a 78 for Fort Mill and Nick Harper was next with an 81. Baker Tolentino finished the scoring for the Jackets with an 82.
Catawba Ridge finished with a 337 as they were led by Muller Otto with an 82. Their remaining three golfers – Niam Sethi, Roman Vasicko, and Carter Mitten each shot an 85 for the Copperheads.
Up next for all three schools will be the Fleischer Invitational at Rock Hill Country Club on April 24-25. From there, they will all meet again at the Region 3-5A championship at Chester Golf Club on Monday, April 27.

The Fort Mill baseball team beat Indian Land 2-1 in nine innings to even its series at one game apiece. Sullivan Townley pitched seven innings to get the win allowing one run on four hits, while striking out six. Fort Mill improved to 11-11 on the season and 7-6 in Region 3-5A.
The Nation Ford baseball team fell 11-6 in game two to their series against Clover to even the series at one. Michai Prowsior went 2-4 at the plate to lead Nation Ford, who fell to 15-7 overall and 9-5 in Region 3-5A.
The Catawba Ridge baseball team won the series against Rock Hill with a 6-0 victory in game two. Both James Carlin and Ryan Cunnyngham each had two hits and Cam Glaze had three RBIs in the win. Bryce Meil got the win on the mound. Catawba Ridge improved to 13-9 overall and 8-6 in Region 3-5A.
The Fort Mill softball team beat Rock Hill for their fourth consecutive win with a 11-1 win to improve to 12-10 overall and 6-4 in Region 3-5A. Mallory Moore went 3-3 with two RBIs in the game as she was one of four Fort Mill players to have two RBIs in the win.
The Fort Mill girls’ lacrosse team beat Indian Land 26-1 to finish Region 3-5A with a perfect 8-0 record. They finished the regular season at 11-4 overall.
