
The Nation Ford track team split their only home meet of the season as the girls’ track team beat six other teams.
Nation Ford girls scored 207 points for the win over Indian Land, Rock Hill, Andrew Jackson, Olympic, Riverwalk and Buford.
The Nation Ford boys team finished with 85 points in third behind winner Indian Land and second place team Rock Hill. Indian Land had 185 points and Rock Hill had 97 points. The boys’ team had competition against all the above-mentioned schools and Westminster Catawba as well.
The Nation Ford girls won the 4×100 relay in 49.15 and the boys also won the 4×100 event in 42.83. Nation Ford won seven events with the girls’ team leading the way.
In the track event, Amaya Davis won the 100-meters in 13.10 seconds for the Falcons and Nation Ford also swept the 400-meters. In the 400-meters, Madison Brailsford won the girls’ race in 1:01 and Logan Thames won the boys’ race in 48.71.
Nation Ford kept the short distant races in tack with Brianna Watkins winning the girls’ 200-meters in 25.54 seconds.
In the field event, the Falcons had two female winners and one male winner. The male winner was Michael Mielke Jr. in the shot put with a toss of 46 feet, 7 inches.
The two female winners were Aaliyah Stewart in the long jump leaping 16 feet, 5.75 inches and Addison Boddie in the high jump clearing 5 feet, 1.75 inches.
