
The Catawba Ridge boys’ lacrosse team ended their season on a positive note with a convincing win over Indian Land.
Catawba Ridge beat Indian Land 22-0 to finish the regular season at 4-11 on the season and 2-6 in Region 3-5A.
“It is good to send our three seniors off with a win,” said Catawba Ridge head coach Mike Gambrill. “It has been a rough year. Happy to get our seniors a win and keep building for the future.”
The Copperheads went up 9-0 after the opening period and was up 16-0 at the half. Catawba Ridge was led by both Will Gambrill, Caleb Williams, and Bradey Compton with four goals each. Boston Halpin also had a hat trick with three goals, while Aiden Holmfelt scored twice in the win as well for Catawba Ridge. Also scoring goals for the Copperheads were Lucas Deckleman, Logan Elias, Jake Johnson, Shane Corley and Logan Cawley.
Catawba Ridge wasted no time in establishing their offense as Gambrill scored about 75 seconds into the match. Williams was next, followed by two more goals from Gambrill, which set the single season points record for Catawba Ridge with 53.
Halpin added back-to-back goals, followed by two goals from Compton and another goal from Williams to put Catawba Ridge up9-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Gambrill scored a little more than two minutes into the second quarter, followed by a goal from Halpin to give him his hat trick. Corley scored and then Williams and Compton each got their third goals before Holmfelt scored his first and Johnson scored to make it 16-0 going into the half.
The second half was a little slower as the Copperheads did more substituting and used a running clock to end the match quicker. Catawba Ridge scored just six points in the second half, three in each quarter. Elias, Compton and Deckleman scored in the third quarter, while Cawley, Holmfelt and Williams scored in the fourth quarter.

The Fort Mill boys’ lacrosse team beat Westside 24-0 to finish the regular season at 13-3 overall.
The Nation Ford boys’ tennis team ended their regular season with a 9-0 loss to Charlotte Catholic to finish at 10-3 overall.
