Fort Mill’s Mackenzie Finn led the Jackets to a win over Catawba Ridge by shooting a 41 Wednesday at Fort Mill Golf Club.

The Fort Mill girls’ golf team topped Catawba Ridge at the Copperheads’ home course of Fort Mill Golf Club Wednesday.

Fort Mill won 185-194 over the Copperheads as the Jackets had three players shoot in the 40s.

Fort Mill was led by a 41 from Mackenzie Finn, which was followed with a 44 from Sam Benton. Cayla Cappuzzo finished with a 49 and Claire Collins rounded out the scoring with a 51.

Catawba Ridge was led by Reagan Lynch with a 42. Her score was followed by a 45 from Ella Rose Hill. Anjali Peddisetty shot a 53 for the Copperheads and Brooke Mehlhouse finished with a 54.

The loss by Catawba Ridge drops them to 7-2 overall on the season with Fort Mill improving to 6-1 on the season.

For both teams, their next scheduled match is the Milltown Showdown on Monday, Oct. 2 at Fort Mill Golf Club.

The Fort Mill girls’ tennis team blanked York 6-0 dropping just six games the entire match as they improved to 6-5 overall on the season. Winning for Fort Mill was Emily Rimmer 6-0, 6-0; Esme Bromham 6-2, 6-2; Kate Hill 6-0, 6-2; Reagan Adams 6-0, 6-0; Hannah Swainey 6-0, 6-0 and Kendall McCarty and Abhi Nallareddy 6-0, 6-0.

The Fort Mill boys’ volleyball team beat Rock Hill 3-0 (25-8, 25-17, 25-18) to improve to 8-8-2 overall on the season, but more importantly it puts them at 5-0 in Region 3-5A.

The Fort Mill girls’ volleyball team beat Catawba Ridge 3-2 (17-25, 28-26, 25-22, 15-25, 15-11) to improve to 12-5 overall on the season. The loss dropped Catawba Ridge to 9-6 overall.
