The Fort Mill girls’ tennis team shutout Nation Ford Thursday to remain undefeated on the season.

Fort Mill is now 10-0 on the season after a 6-0 win over the Falcons. The Jackets are 5-0 in Region 3-5A competition with three region matches left. Nation Ford dropped to 1-5 on the season and 1-3 in region play.

The Jackets picked up all six of their wins against Nation Ford in straight sets and only had a tight battle in just one singles match.

Winning at No. 1 singles for Fort Mill was Anaya Pallath with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Nation Ford’s Tanvi Sikka. Aashi Pallath won at No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-0 over Lauren Padgett for the Falcons. At No. 3 singles, the Jackets’ Madison McCarty won 6-1, 6-1 over Nation Ford’s Bella Neff and Fort Mill’s No. 4 singles Katie Pierson beat Ava Baldino 6-2, 6-1. In the most competitive match between the rivals, Fort Mill’s Rachel Templeton beat Alexa Brenner 6-1, 7-5 at No. 5 singles.

In the only doubles match, the Jackets’ Clara Lake and Kate Hill won 6-1, 6-2 over Ansley McDonald and Eva Arnautovic.

Fort Mill will face Clover next week in another region match, while Nation Ford travels to Boiling Springs.
