ROCK HILL – Catawba Ridge’s Jarrett Eubanks won his weight class at the 2024 Bearcat Invitational Saturday at Rock Hill High School.

Eubanks won the 175-pound division 3-0 over Lugoff-Elgin’s Logan Hinton. Eubanks won by the identical score in the semi-finals over Lancaster’s Peyton Miles to reach the finals. Eubanks didn’t have a single point scored against him in the tournament.

Catawba Ridge and Nation Ford both participated in the two-day tournament which was won by Northwestern with 175.5 points. Catawba Ridge finished 19th with 67.5 points and Nation Ford was 22nd with 55 points. There were 33 boys’ and 32 girls’ teams in the tournament.

Eubanks led the way for local wrestlers from Fort Mill Township. Alex Johnson also finished fourth at 215-pounds for the Copperheads in the tournament. Catawba Ridge had eight wrestlers in the tournament.

For Nation Ford, the Falcons had nine wrestlers compete in the tournament and was led by Mitchell Ladamus who finished third at 138-pounds picking up the 4-2 decision over Lake Norman’s Noah Murray to get the third-place finish.

Dalton Cutsinger finished fifth for Nation Ford at 144-pounds beating Jordan Baptist of Goose Creek 10-2 in the fifth-place match.

Danny Gilstorf (132) and Jake Moore (113) both finished eighth in their individual weight classes.

Nation Ford had one girl participate in the girls’ division of the tournament with Avneet Kaur finishing fourth at 110-pounds.

Both Nation Ford and Catawba Ridge start their respective Region III schedules next week.
