The Catawba Ridge girls’ golf team won the Region 3-4A championship at Fort Mill Golf Club Monday.

The Copperheads shot a 346 as a team to beat York and South Pointe. York shot a 433 and South Pointe shot a 507 to finish second and third. Catawba Ridge was led by Eileen Zeoli, who shot a 79 in the 18-hole tournament. Her score was followed by an 81 from Katherine Mann and a 90 from Kate Gilmer. Alyia Santiago finished the scoring with a 94 for the Copperheads.

Catawba Ridge moves onto the 4A Upper State tournament at Falcons Lair Golf Course in Wahalla Oct. 19.

Both Fort Mill and Nation Ford girls’ golf teams qualified for the 5A Upper State tournament as well.

Fort Mill finished third with a 384 and Nation Ford was fourth with a 399 in the five-team, 18-hole Region 3-5A tournament held at Chester Golf Club Monday. Boiling Springs won the region title with a 318 score.

The Jackets were led by Mackenzie Finn, who shot an 89 for Fort Mill. Finn finished sixth overall in the tournament. Her score was followed by a 92 from Greycen Baker and a 95 from Kinsley Delcourt. Rounding out the scoring was Kristen Guernsey with a 108.

Nation Ford was led by Vivian Harris who shot an 87, good enough for fifth overall in the tournament. Her score was followed by a 99 from Sara McCaskill and a 106 from Katie Griggs. Sarah Tran rounded out the scoring for the Falcons with a 107.

Both teams will now head back to Chester for the 18-hole Upper State tournament Oct. 19.
