Revised 2020 football schedules for all three Fort Mill high schools have been released with some new games added in the mix.

The new schedules are based on the S.C. High School League (SCHSL) cutting the number of games to seven for the football season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new schedules will focus on getting region games to the front of the schedules, so that teams will be able to qualify for playoffs earlier. Some non-region games are mixed into the region schedules for Fort Mill and Nation Ford, while Catawba Ridge is scheduled to play theirs out without any non-region interference.

Catawba Ridge will play in Region 3-4A this season and will open their season at South Pointe Sept. 11. They will then host York at home Sept. 18 and Lancaster at home Sept. 25.

The Copperheads will begin the month of October at Indian Land Oct. 2 to finish region play and then will travel to Chester Oct. 9 to open their non-region schedule. Their two other non-region games to give them seven will be at Fort Mill Oct. 16 and then hosting Nation Ford at the Snake Pit Oct. 23.

Games with Carolina Bearcats, Andrew Jackson, and Ardrey Kell were dropped from their original 10-game schedule.

The Falcons are still in Region 3-5A this season, but has new untraditional region opponents in Boiling Springs and Gaffney this year. For Nation Ford, they will open their season hosting rival Fort Mill at home Sept. 11. They will then travel to Boiling Springs Sept. 18, before hosting Gaffney Sept. 25.

Nation Ford will then have a non-region game Oct. 2 at White Knoll, before finishing off region play Oct. 9 at Clover. Their two final non-region games will be at home Oct. 16 against Northwestern and then traveling to Catawba Ridge Oct. 23. White Knoll was added to the Falcons’ schedule. Games with River Bluff, Forestview and Westwood were dropped from the Falcons’ original 10-game schedule.

Fort Mill will open their season against at Nation Ford Sept. 11 and then host Clover Sept. 18. They will play Hartsville Sept. 25, which is a new addition to their schedule, but a location hasn’t been listed on their schedule.

The Hartsville game will split their region season in half and after that game, they will finish their Region 3-5A season at Boiling Springs Oct. 2 and then host Gaffney Oct. 9.

The Jackets will then host Catawba Ridge for the first time ever and finish the regular season at Lancaster Oct. 23. Fort Mill dropped games with Indian Land, York and Lugoff-Elgin from their original 10-game schedule.

According to the SCHSL, teams that don’t make the playoffs can add one more non-region game to the end of the schedule.
