Carter Powell throws a pitch for Post 43 during their game against Lancaster.

The Fort Mill Post 43 Seniors swept their series against Lancaster Post 31 with another 11-1 win.

Fort Mill won all three games this season against Lancaster by a 11-1 score and are now 5-4 overall on the season.

TJ McCluney led off the bottom of the first with a double. Cooper Armstrong then singled to score McCluney to put Fort Mill up early 1-0. Alex Blanchette singled in Armstrong and Ethan Solnick walked to put runners on the corners.

Post 43 failed to get them in, but was up 2-0 after the first inning.

Fort Mill starter Carter Powell continued to impress in the second inning facing the minimum.

In the bottom of the second, McCluney reached second on an error and stole third, but Post 43 again wasn’t able to score to keep momentum going.

Lancaster scored in the top of the third off a couple of hits. Another single, and a hit batter loaded the bases for Post 31 with one out. Powell regrouped without allowing another run.

James Knoll got on base in the third inning off an error and then made it to third on a passed ball. Ethan Solnick walked and Jackson Carroll drove in Knoll with two outs. Lawson Smith doubled in both Solnick and Carroll. Smith stole third and then reached home on an error. Fort Mill picked up four runs in the inning to take a 6-1 lead.

After a scoreless top of the fourth, McCluney singled and would score on a single from Blanchette. That would be the only run Post 43 scored in the inning.

Lancaster threatened with one hit in the inning, but Powell continued to pitch well to get Fort Mill out of the inning.

Solnick and Carroll walked to open the bottom of the fifth inning. Michael Caropreso then singled in both Solnick and Carroll. McCluney walked and Armstrong singled, bringing up Blanchette who hit a two run double to walk the game off and enforce the 10-run rule.

Blanchette went 3-3 with four RBI to lead Post 43. Caropreso and Smith each had two RBI and both McCluney and Armstrong each had two hits.

Powell pitched a complete game going five innings and allowing one run on five hits, without allowing a walk and striking out 11.

Post 43 Seniors will travel to Wingate University on Friday, June 26 to play Union County Post 535.
