The Nation Ford Falcons golf team edged rivals Fort Mill by three strokes on the links at Springmaid Golf Course Tuesday.

Nation Ford shot a 158, as Fort Mill posted a 161 in the match. The Falcons were led by Ben Mills who shot a one-over par 37 and was the medalist for the match.

Justin Wosje was second for Nation Ford with a 39, followed by a 40 from Carter Smith and a 42 from Harrison LaPointe.

Fort Mill was led by Parker Harrigan, who shot a 38, and was followed by Cam Baker, who finished his round with a 39. Both Baker Tolentino and Austin Anderson finished the scoring for Fort Mill with rounds of 42 each. 

The win puts Nation Ford at 5-0 on the season. Up next for the Falcons golf team is a tri-match against Northwestern and Indian Land March 28 at Springfield.

Nation Ford

The Nation Ford tennis team won 6-0 against Clover to improve to 4-1 in Region 3-5A.

The Falcons girls’ soccer team shutout Rock Hill 5-0 to improve to 1-3 in region play and 6-5 overall.

Nation Ford’s boys’ soccer team won 4-0 over Rock Hill on the road to improve to 3-0 in the region and 9-3 overall.

The Nation Ford softball team routed Rock Hill 21-0 in three innings of play to improve to 2-3 on the season and 1-1 in region play. Nation Ford scored 12 runs in the first inning. Jackie Knol, Tori Baldino and Ava Scheier all had three RBIs in the game.

Catawba Ridge

The Catawba Ridge golf team beat Clover 177 to 191 at River Hill Country Club on Tuesday. The Copperheads were led by OT Mitchell with a one-under par 35. He was followed by a 44 from Muller Otto and a 46 from Killian Kirby. Drew White finished with a 52 for Catawba Ridge.

The Copperheads softball team beat Indian Land 14-2 to improve to 11-2 on the season and 4-0 in Region 3-4A play. Kendra Murray and Kyrsten Reynolds hit home runs for Catawba Ridge. Georgia Burford went 4-4 with three doubles and Chloe Burger had 11 strikeouts in the win.

The Catawba Ridge boys’ soccer team beat Indian Land 1-0 at home in a key region battle to improve to 4-0 in the region and 11-2-1 overall.

Fort Mill

The Fort Mill softball team won 13-3 over Spring Valley in six innings to improve to 1-1 in Region 3-5A and 7-1 overall on the season. Vicki Lott went 3-5 with four RBIs to lead Fort Mill at the plate. Both El DesErmia and Mary Dober had three RBI in the win. DesErmia hit a three-run home run as well.

The Fort Mill girls’ soccer team won 5-0 over Spring Valley on the road to improve to 2-1 in region play and 6-4-1 overall.
