
COLUMBIA – All three local varsity competitive cheerleading squads came home with a top 10 finish at the 5A Division II state championship Saturday.
The event was held at the Colonial Life Arena in downtown Columbia and saw Chapin win the state championship for the fifth time since 2019 with 331.5 points. St. James was second with 306 points.
Locally, Catawba Ridge was the highest finisher at third with 291 points. Fort Mill was fifth with 257.5 points and Nation Ford came in 10th out of 12 teams with 235 points.
