Fort Mill’s Connor Hilsmier returns the ball during the Jackets match at Catawba Ridge Monday afternoon.

The Fort Mill boys’ tennis team improved to 4-0 on the season with a sweep of the Catawba Ridge Copperheads Monday.

Fort Mill won 7-0 sweeping all five singles matches and both doubles matches. The loss drops the Copperheads to 2-2 on the season.

Catawba Ridge had just one match go to a third set tiebreaker. Fort Mill won in the No. 1 singles match 6-2, 6-1 as Connor Hilsmier topped Devin Hartzog. The Jackets’ Chase Harris won a third set tie breaker at No. 2 singles 6-3, 4-6, 10-1 over Eric Finley for the Copperheads.

Fort Mill’s Dillon Fraser beat Aiden Liles at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-3 and Clay White beat Charlie Gallagher at No. 4 singles 6-3, 6-2 for the Jackets as well. Zach Hughes won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 5 singles for Fort Mill over Wayden Uter for Catawba Ridge.

The Jackets also won at No. 2 doubles 6-0, 6-1 with Jake Castino and Noah Bogucki winning over Cade Gainey and Koen Tesamale. Hilsmier and Harris teamed up for Fort Mill in No. 1 doubles to beat Hartzog and Finley in one set 8-6.

Up next for Fort Mill is at Gaffney Tuesday and for Catawba Ridge their next match is hosting Indian Land Tuesday.

The Fort Mill golf team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 164-199 win over Northwestern at Tega Cay Golf Club. The Jackets were led by a 38 from Cam Baker and a 39 from Alex Martin. Ryan Patterson shot a 43 and Austin Anderson finished with a 44 for Fort Mill.

The Fort Mill girls’ soccer team won 2-1 over Clover Monday to improve to 8-2-2 overall on the season and 2-0 in Region 3-5A play. Kennedy Little and Dylan Harder each score in the Jackets victory over Clover Monday.
