The Fort Mill boys and girls track team swept a Region 3-5A meet against Clover in a rare home meet.

The Fort Mill boys won 83-62 and the girls won 100-49. Fort Mill boys won all three relay events winning the 4×100 in 44.45, the 4×400 in 3:51.89 and the 4×800 in 9:42.94. In the boys’ events, individuals winning for the Jackets were:

Jason Moran – 100-meters, 11.53

Jackson Dawson – 1,600-meters, 4:24.29

Anthony Elijah Jarrett – 200-meters, 23.39 and 400-meters, 52.55

Colin Thompson – 400-meter hurdles, 1:07.84

Devon Sibley – 3,200-meters, 10:16.24

Liam Tanner Mays – high jump, 5’6”

Bryson Redman – long jump, 19’4.5”

Marcus Boston Brinkley – shot put, 44’4.5”

The Fort Mill girls also swept the three relay events winning the 4×100 in 51.28, the 4×400 in 4:34.19 and the 4×800 in 11:04.58. In the girls’ events, individuals winning for Fort Mill were:

Alivia Cleveland – 1,600-meters, 5:15.42 and 3,200-meters, 11:24.87

Danielle Williams – 200-meters, 27.48 and 400-meters, 1:00.98

Sophia Carnevale – 400-meter hurdles, 1:18.93

Marisa Jones – triple jump, 31’11”

Willa Clark – shot put, 31’3” and discus, 90’3”

Sienna Lydon – javelin, 96’0”

In other sports…

The Catawba Ridge baseball team clinched the Region 3-4A title by beating Indian Land 14-5 in game two of their season series. The Copperheads scored nine runs in the second inning to help propel them to the win. Jonathan Barschow went 3-3 at the plate to lead Catawba Ridge and Harrison Wilson got the win on the mound pitching four innings and striking out seven batters. The Copperheads are now 13-4 on the season and 9-2 in the region.

The Fort Mill baseball team beat Northwestern 8-3 to improve to 9-5 overall on the season. Mathieu Curtis got the win on the mound for the Jackets and Dylan Schaefer and Luke Garabedian each got two hits to lead Fort Mill.

The Nation Ford baseball team fell to Clover 9-2 in game two of their season series. The Falcons fall to 5-10 overall on the season and 4-4 in Region 3-5A.

The Nation Ford boys’ soccer team fell to Clover 2-0 for their first Region 3-5A loss of the season as they drop to 11-6-1 overall and 5-1 in the region.
