MARIETTA – The Nation Ford golf team finished fifth in the state with a two-day total of 590 at the 5A Division II state tournament.

The tournament was held at The Cliffs at the Mountain Course in Greenville County.

The Falcons shot a 298 on day one and school record 292 on day two. Nation Ford was led by Carson Smith, who made All-State, shooting a two-day total of 144 (74-70) and finished 10th overall. Justin Wosje was 14th overall and finished with a 145 (75-70) and Harrison LaPointe shot a 146 (75-71) for the Falcons.

Nation Ford‘s Oliver LaPointe finished with a 155 (74-81) and Carter Mills finished with a 170 (81-89) to round out the scores for the Falcons.

Both Fort Mill and Catawba Ridge had two individuals that played in the tournament. For the Copperheads, Bray Vining finished with a 155 (76-79) and Niam Sethi shot a total of 165 (82-83).

The Jackets were led by a 156 (80-76) from Baker Tolentino and a 172 (82-90) from Noah Jones.

TL Hanna won the team championship with a 570 total.
