Catawba Ridge’s Reagan Lynch tees off during the school’s match against Indian Land Thursday in Lancaster.

All three local girls golf teams picked up wins on Thursday.

Catawba Ridge opened their season with a 172-197 win over Indian Land High School at the Lancaster Golf Club.

The Copperheads were led by a one over par 37 from Reagan Lynch, which was a personal best round for her. Her score was followed by a 42 from Ella Rose Hill and a 46 from Brooke Mehlhouse. Anjali Peddisetty shot a round of 47 to finish the scoring for Catawba Ridge.

The Copperheads now turn their attention to the Lady Blue Jacket tournament this weekend in Aynor at the Diamondback Golf Club.

The Nation Ford Falcons set a school record with a 164 in their tri-match at Waterford Golf Club against Northwestern and South Pointe. Northwestern shot a 203 and South Pointe shot a 222 in the match. Nation Ford was led by a 37 from Vivian Harris, followed by a 40 from Sara McCaskill, a 43 from Piper Sabino and a 44 from Katie Griggs.

Nation Ford is also playing in the Lady Blue Jacket tournament this weekend as well. The Falcons are 2-0 on the season.

Fort Mill beat York in a close match shooting a 172, compared to a 176 for the Cougars at Spring Lake Country Club. The Jackets are now 3-0 on the season.

Fort Mill was led by a round of 38 from Mackenzie Finn. She was followed by rounds of 44 from both Sam Benton and Cayla Cappuzzo. Claire Collins finished the scoring with a 46 for Fort Mill.

The Jackets are next scheduled to play Aug. 28 at Waterford Golf Club against Northwestern.

The Nation Ford girls’ volleyball team beat Cuthbertson 3-1 (25-15, 25-15, 20-25, 25-12) to improve their record to 5-2 overall on the season.

The Catawba Ridge girls’ volleyball team improved to 2-4 overall picking up a 3-1 win over Rock Hill.
