High School Basketball in Fort Mill

The Fort Mill basketball and wrestling programs had a pretty good weekend.

On Saturday, Dec. 16, the Fort Mill wrestling team won the Milltown Duals held at South Pointe High School going 5-0 on the day. The Jackets beat Chesterfield 72-9, Lancaster 72-12, Palisades 78-6, Lewisville 78-6, and South Pointe 52-24.

Fort Mill is now 11-2 on the season and will next participate in the Union County Duals on Saturday, Dec. 23.

The Fort Mill boys’ and girls’ basketball teams traveled to Christ Church in Greenville County on Saturday as well.

Fort Mill boys beat Christ Church 67-52 to improve to 5-3 on the season as they were led by three players in double figures. Nas Berry led the way with 22 points, followed by 18 points from Logan Parker and 10 points from Kishawn Anderson.

The Lady Jackets beat Christ Church as well 59-36 to improve to 8-0 on the season.

The Jackets next play Northwestern at the Rock Hill Sports and Events Center Tuesday, Dec. 19.

Nation Ford

The Nation Ford wrestling team participated in the Demon Holiday Classic individual tournament at Lugoff-Elgin High School finishing 14th overall on Saturday.

Mitchell Ladamus won his bracket at 138-pounds and Jace Smith finished fifth at 150-pounds.

Nation Ford is next schedule to wrestle in the Chester County Duals Saturday, Dec. 30.

Catawba Ridge

The Copperheads wrestling program also participated in the Demon Holiday Classic at Lugoff-Elgin High School and finished 11th overall.

Jarrett Eubanks took third place at 190-pounds and both Levi Jones (144) and Beau Nicoll (175) took fourth place.

Catawba Ridge is next scheduled to wrestle Wednesday, Dec. 20 at home against York to open their Region 3-4A schedule.
