The Fort Mill High School swim team swept rivals Nation Ford and Catawba Ridge in the Fort Mill Fallout at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center.

The meet was held Thursday, Sept. 25 with the Fort Mill boys beating Nation Ford 112-57 and Catawba Ridge 133-37. The Nation Ford boys beat Catawba Ridge 98-71 as well. The Lady Jackets beat Nation Ford 111-59 and Catawba Ridge 120-50. Nation Ford girls tied Catawba Ridge with each team scoring 85 points.

Fort Mill won five of the six relay events with Nation Ford winning the boys’ 200-yard freestyle. Individual winners for Fort Mill were:

Bella Corbi – girls’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly

Turner Wiand – boys’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke

Dominic Impens – boys’ 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke

Parker Hightower – boys’ 200-yard individual medley

Haruka Ono – girls’ 100-yard breaststroke

Individual winners for Nation Ford were:

Avery Martin – girls’ 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle

Gavin Charcalla – boys’ 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle

Gray Reiger – boys’ 100-yard butterfly

Individual winners for Catawba Ridge were:

Amelia Meehan – girls’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke

Belle Gload – girls’ 100-yard freestyle

The next meet for all three schools is the Region 3-5A meet at the Rock Hill Aquatics Center on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Sept. 25 Roundup

The Fort Mill girls’ tennis team improved to 8-0 with a 4-3 win over Catawba Ridge. Winning for Fort Mill was Abhi Nallareddy 6-1,6-0; Avalon Stevens 6-4, 6-3; and in doubles, Ellie Corbett and Macie Simpson 6-4, 7-5 and Nallareddy and Kendall McCarty 6-3, 6-3. Winning for Catawba Ridge was Gracyn Root 6-0, 6-3; Abby Russell 6-3, 6-4; and Jane Rohrmeier 6-3, 7-6 (12-10). Catawba Ridge fell to 3-4 on the season.

The Nation Ford girls’ volleyball team improved to 7-0 in Region 3-5A and 17-4 overall after beating Northwestern 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-16).

The Nation Ford boys’ volleyball team improved to 9-6 on the season and 4-3 in Region 3-5A with a 3-1 win over Northwestern.

The Nation Ford girls’ tennis team won 5-1 over Northwestern to improve to 6-1 on the season.
