Both the Fort Mill boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams cruised to wins over three other Region 3-5A teams Wednesday at the Anne Springs Close Greenway.
Fort Mill beat Clover, Blythewood and Nation Ford at the meet and took home individual winners in both the boy’s and girl’s race. In the girl’s race, Fort Mill scored 19 points with Blythewood coming in second with 39, while Clover was third with 84 and Nation Ford had 115.
In the girl’s race, Alivia Cleveland won in 19:06 to pace teammates Kaylee Rovenstine, who finished second in 19:40, and Avery Moriarty, who was third in 20:04. Mia Zook finished fifth in 20:28 for Fort Mill and Lauren Fredenberg was eighth overall in 21:58 to round out the scoring for the Jackets.
Nation Ford was led by Lauren Bassing who finished 43rd in 25:49. She was followed by Madison Littlehale two seconds later in 25:51 in 44th. Marleigh Ray was 47th in 26:15 for the Falcons and Gretchen Johnson finished in 68th for Nation Ford in 28:49. Saylor Murray rounded out the scoring for Nation Ford in 72nd in 29:11.
In the boy’s race, Fort Mill scored 22 points with Blythewood coming in second with 45. Clover had 69 and Nation Ford had 120.
Fort Mill’s Isaac Campbell sprinted to a win in 16:35, six seconds ahead of Blythewood’s Jacob Powell. Tanner Long was third overall for Fort Mill in 16:43 and Conner Demmerle was fifth overall in 17:01. Hudson Haley finished sixth in 17:33 for the Jackets and Sam Leckrone was seventh in 17:45.
For Nation Ford, Hudson Teubner finished 43rd in 20:41 to lead the Falcons. Vyom Madeyanda was 45th in 20:43 and Brennan Wellmon was 46th with the same time for Nation Ford. Robert Saddler finished 64th in 21:23 and Dean Miller was 72nd in 21:38 to finish the scoring for the Falcons.

The Fort Mill girls’ tennis team bounced back from falling to Nation Ford Tuesday to beat Catawba Ridge Wednesday by a score of 4-2. Fort Mill is now 4-4 on the season. Winning for Fort Mill was Emily Rimmer 6-0, 6-0; Reagan Adams 6-3, 6-3; Hannah Swainey 6-2, 6-1 and Kendall McCarty and Abhi Nallareddy in doubles 6-1, 6-1. Winning for Catawba Ridge was Gracyn Root 7-5, 6-1 and Emerson Brooks 6-3, 6-3. The loss for Catawba Ridge dropped them to 5-1 on the season.
The Catawba Ridge girls’ golf team beat Northwestern 181-223 at Fort Mill Golf Club. The Copperheads were led by a 41 from Brooke Mehlhouse, followed by a 44 from Reagan Lynch and a pair of 48s from Ella Rose Hill and Jordan Lyons. Catawba Ridge is now 6-1 on the season.
The Nation Ford girls’ golf team beat Rock Hill 184-219 at Springfield Golf Club to improve to 6-0 on the season. Vivian Harris led the Falcons with a 37. She was followed by a 45 from Piper Sabino, a 46 from Hadley Mark and a 56 from Mary Fields Spratt.
The Nation Ford boys’ volleyball team beat Greenwood and Rock Hill at home in a tri-match to pick up their second and third wins on the season. The Falcons won 25-22 and 25-20 to get the win over Greenwood and beat Rock Hill in three sets 20-25, 25-23, 16-14.
The Fort Mill boys’ volleyball team got a big Region 3-5A win at home beating Clover 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 18-25, 25-22) to improve to 6-8-2 overall on the season.
Late Tuesday, the Fort Mill swim team beat both Rock Hill and Blythewood at the Rock Hill Aquatics Center to sweep a tri-meet. The Fort Mill boys beat Rock Hill 138-27 and Blythewood 132.5-37.5. The Fort Mill girls beat Rock Hill 140-29 and Blythewood 139-31. Fort Mill swept all 22 events swimming a perfect meet by winning all six relay events and all 16 individual events. Individual winners for Fort Mill were – Bella Corbi (200 free and 100 back), Turner Wiand (200 free and 100 free), Olivia Corbi 200 IM and 100 fly), Adrian Paredes (200 IM), Ava Corbi (50 free and 100 free), Dominic Impens (50 free and 100 breast), Tate Preston (100 fly), Jack Dollyhigh (500 free), Zach Minnich (100 back) and Lila Hadley (100 breast).
