Nation Ford’s Colt Mohler returns a shot against Rock Hill.

The Nation Ford boys’ tennis team picked up a 5-1 win over the Rock Hill Bearcats to improve to 8-1 on the season.

Nation Ford was led by No. 1 singles player Colt Mohler, who won 6-2, 6-4, and Davis Glasco at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-3.

Rock Hill picked up a win at No. 3 singles, but the Falcons were able to get wins in the final two singles matches and in doubles. At No. 4 singles, Jaideep Tatineni won for Nation Ford 6-1, 6-2 and Finnegan Bridges won at No. 5 with 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles, Nation Ford’s Josh Assaad and Ohm Patel won 6-0, 6-0 for the Falcons.

The Falcons are now 8-1 in Region 3-5A and their only loss on the year is to Fort Mill.

The Fort Mill boys’ tennis team beat Northwestern 6-0. Winning for the Jackets was Lucas Coelho 6-0, 6-0; Jethin Bastin 6-0, 6-0; Ishaan Amjath 6-1, 6-1; Jackson Bradley 6-0, 6-0; Sawyer Bryan 6-0, 6-1; and in doubles Ruda Patki and Sai Prabav Paruchuri 6-0, 6-1. Fort Mill is now 9-2 overall on the season.

The Fort Mill softball team used a three run sixth inning to beat Nation Ford 5-3. Brooke Rosario and Kennedy Cullings each had two RBIs in the win for the Jackets, who improved to 8-8 overall and 2-2 in Region 3-5A. Nation Ford dropped to 12-4 overall and 4-2 in the region.

The Catawba Ridge softball team fell to Clover 7-6 and dropped to 10-8 overall on the season and 4-2 in Region 3-5A.

The Nation Ford girls’ soccer team beat Fort Mill 1-0 to improve to 8-3 overall and 4-2 in Region 3-5A. Fort Mill fell to 7-4 overall and 4-2 in the region.

The Catawba Ridge girls’ soccer team beat Clover 2-1 (4-3 in PKs) to improve to 13-1-1 overall and 5-1 in Region 3-5A.

Late Monday, the Catawba Ridge boys’ lacrosse lost to Clover 26-3 to fall to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in Region 3-5A.
