Post 43’s Harrison Wilson throws a pitch during Fort Mill’s game against Chester Post 27 Wednesday.

The Fort Mill Post 43 senior team shook off some bad games and snapped a three-game losing streak to beat Chester Post 27 Wednesday.

Post 43 improves to 3-5 overall on the season with the 11-1 win. Fort Mill was helped by a dozen walks from Chester pitching as Post 43 only got six hits in the game. Cooper Wilson led Post 43 at the plate going 3-3 with seven RBI, including two doubles.

Fort Mill got on the board in the second inning scoring three runs as Wilson had a bases clearing double scoring Scott Young, Alex Steckler and Drew Endres.

Post 43 followed the inning up with another big inning in the third scoring three more runs on three hits as Wilson had an RBI single along with an RBI double from Endres and an RBI single from Lane Boutwell. This put Fort Mill up 6-0 and gave them the run support for starter Harrison Wilson to be able to do his job on the mound.

Harrison Wilson went three and a third innings allowing just one hit, while walking three and striking out six to get the win. Jacob Boyna would replace Wilson on the mound and pitch an inning and two thirds allowing one run on one hit, while striking out two.

Chester would score their only run in the top of the fifth, but Fort Mill would add three more in the bottom of the inning without getting a hit. Cooper Wilson would drive a run in on a sacrifice and Boutwell, Dusty Sanderlin and Seth Hanson would all score as Chester walked six players in the inning.

In the bottom of the sixth, Sanderlin and Endres would both walk before Cooper Wilson would hit a two run double to score the final runs of the game for Post 43.

Hanson would throw one inning of work and walk a batter, while striking out three.

Fort Mill travels to Cherryville Friday and Sunday to play in the NC-SC Challenge at Fraley Field. They will play two games Friday against Rutherford County and host Cherryville in a doubleheader. On Sunday, they will play against Fuquay-Varina out of Virginia.
