Nation Ford’s No. 1 player Colt Mohler returns a serve during the Falcons match against Indian Land on March 13.

The Nation Ford Falcons boys’ tennis team picked up a shutout win over new Region 3-5A opponent Indian Land.

The Falcons won every match in straight sets and only dropped 13 games in the match.

Nation Ford No. 1 singles player Colt Mohler won his match 6-2, 6-3 and the Falcons No.2 player Owen McCullough won 6-1, 6-1.

Jaideep Tatinenl won at No. 3 singles for Nation Ford with identical scores of 6-1 in two sets.

The Falcons’ Jacob Brancato at No. 4 singles, won 6-0, 6-0 and No. 5 singles Shanmith Kamireddy won 6-0, 6-2 to close out singles play.

In No. 2 doubles, Naren Arunprakash and Luke Clendening also won in straight sets for Nation Ford 6-1, 6-2.

Nation Ford has a new head coach this season in Claudia Vizzini.

The Nation Ford girls’ soccer team beat Sun Valley on the road 6-0 and is now 7-2-1 on the season.  

The Catawba Ridge softball team improved to 6-0 on the season with a 16-0 one-hitter against Northwestern at home. Mia Kovacs went 3-3 with four RBIs to lead the Copperheads at the plate. 

The Fort Mill boys’ tennis team beat Rock Hill 5-1 to improve to 2-0 on the season. Getting wins for Fort Mill were Ethan Franklin 6-1, 6-0; Jack Childs 6-3, 6-3; Arnav Meshram 7-6, 7-6; Patrick Wright 6-1, 6-2; and Xander Pak and Lucas Coelho in doubles 6-3, 6-0.

The Fort Mill golf team beat Catawba Ridge at the Tega Cay Golf Club 164-172. Fort Mill was led by a 37 from Baker Tolentino. Noah Jones shot a 40 for Fort Mill and Brody Blackwell shot a 42. The scoring was finished by Fort Mill with a 45 from Grayson Sipe. Carter Mitten led Catawba Ridge with a 39. Bray Vining shot a 41 and Niam Sethi finished with a 44. Roman Vasicko finished the scoring for the Copperheads with a 48.

The Fort Mill girls’ lacrosse team dropped to 0-4 on the season after a 21-8 loss to Charlotte Latin.
