The Nation Ford swim team put up a strong performance at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center sweeping a six-team meet.

Nation Ford boys’ and girls’ teams went 5-0 in the pool on Thursday, Aug. 28 beating Andrew Jackson, South Pointe, Rock Hill, and Indian Land to improve to 8-1 overall. The Nation Ford boys’ team beat Lancaster 148-8, Andrew Jackson 153-0, Indian Land 128-34, South Pointe 140-19, and Rock Hill 135-32. The Lady Falcons won 160-3 over South Pointe, 138-31 against Indian Land, 159-2 against Andrew Jackson, and 135-35 against Rock Hill.

The Falcons swept all six relay events, including tying Rock Hil in the girls’ 200-yard freestyle. Nation Ford also won 15 of the 16 individual events. Individual winners for Nation Ford were:

Kenna Zimmerly – girls’ 200-yard freestyle

Gavin Charcalla – boys’ 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle

Avery Martin – girls’ 200-yard individual medley and 500-yard freestyle

Gray Reiger – boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly

Belle Kolatis – girls’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly

Levi Vaden – boys’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke

Brittany Fink – girls’ 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke

Abby Garcia – girls’ 100-yard breaststroke

Austin Coleman – boys’ 100-yard breaststroke

Nation Ford next swims in the Upstate Invitational at the Fort Mill Aquatic Center on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The Nation Ford boys’ volleyball team split with AC Flora and Boiling Springs in a tri-match at home to improve to 4-3 on the season. Nation Ford swept AC Flora 2-0 (25-11, 25-12), but fell to Boiling Springs 2-0 (25-21, 25-16).

The Fort Mill girls’ volleyball team also split with Westwood and Chapin to open their season. They are now 1-1 on the year. Fort Mill beat Westwood 2-0 (25-12, 25-14) and fell to Chapin 2-0 (25-17, 25-18).
