Nation Ford’s Connor O’ Flynn nears the finish line at the Anne Springs Close Greenway on his way to winning the boys race against Gaffney.

With a perfect score in both the boys’ and girls’ races, the Nation Ford Falcons cross-country team easily beat Gaffney Wednesday evening.

Nation Ford scored a 15 in both races, meaning that the top five finishers in each race were Falcons’ runners.

In the girls’ race, Nation Ford was led by senior Katie Pou, who won the race in 19:39. She was followed by second place finisher Ansley Archeleta in 22:04 and Mia Royall in third place in 22:15. Finishing fourth in 22:31 was Marysa Brenner and then coming in fifth was Madison Hager in 23:36. The highest Gaffney runner came in 10th.

The Falcons were just as dominate in the boys’ race as they were led by Connor O’Flynn, who won in 17:25. He was followed by Justin Storms in 18:11 in second and then Mason Haynes in 18:15 in third place. Rounding out the top five for Nation Ford was Alan Dayrit in fourth in 18:36 and then Jonathan Pool in fifth in 18:40. The highest Gaffney finisher was in 11th place. 

Nation Ford now turns their attention to a meet in Lexington Oct. 10.
