Swimming pool with lane markers ready for a meet

The Nation Ford Falcons opened their 2020 swim season posting two very important Region 3-5A road wins in the pool against Clover and Boiling Springs.

Both the girls’ and boys’ teams won as the Falcons’ girls beat Clover 105-65 and Boiling Springs 119-50. The boys’ team won against Clover 89-70 and beat Boiling Springs 99-65.

Nation Ford won five of the six relay events. Winning races for the Falcons were:

Austin Lockhart – boys’ 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle

Lucas Grigat – boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke

Emily Eaton – girls’ 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke

Julie Pou – girls’ 200-yard individual medley

Ava Padgett – girls’ 50-yard freestyle

Sydney Fink – girls’ 100-yard freestyle

Sophia Bujoreanu – girls’ 100-yard backstroke

George Bujoreanu – boys’ 100-ayrd backstroke 

Currently, Nation Ford’s next scheduled swim meet is away against South Pointe and Clover Sept. 8. Their first home meet at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center is scheduled Sept. 10 against Gaffney and Indian Land.
