ROCK HILL – Athletes from all three local high schools won at the Tri-County track meet at South Pointe High School Saturday.

The meet saw 12 teams from Chester, Lancaster, and York counties compete as two Rock Hill based teams won. Northwestern won the boys meet with 156 points and South Pointe won the girls meet with 126 points.

Nation Ford finished second for both the boys and girls meets. The Nation Ford boys had 127 points and the girls had 121 points. The Falcons led the local teams with the most event wins.

Winning for Nation Ford was:

Patrick McLeod – boys shot put (48 feet, 10.75 inches)

Lucas Barz – boys javelin (154 feet, 6 inches)

Xavier Dixon – boys 100-meter (10.61)

Neale Johnson – boys 400-meter hurdles (54.91)

Mia Royall – girls 1,600-meter (5:23) and 800-meter (2:15)

Girls 4×400 – 4:09

Boys 4×400 – 3:23

Fort Mill girls finished fourth with 90 points and the Jackets’ boys finished fifth with 58 points. Winning for Fort Mill was:

Willa Clark – girls shot put (33 feet, 1.75 inches)

Girls 4×800 – 10:10

Catawba Ridge boys finished sixth with 40 points and the girls finished ninth with 15 points. Winning for the Copperheads was:

Sydney Pierce – girls pole vault (10 feet, 11.75 inches)

Zach Webster – boys discus (149 feet, 9 inches)

Josh Dobson – boys 400-meter 49.31

All three teams will next be competing in their local region championship meets this coming week.
