
The Fort Mill High athletic department held its final signing of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Fort Mill had 16 athletes sign for a variety of different colleges at different levels from dance to basketball to swimming, just to name a few. Basketball had two signees, probably the most well-known names out of the group.
Wallace Campbell committed to Roanoke College in Virginia. The two-year varsity starter and two-time All-Region player averaged 13.4 points a game his senior season to go with 6.5 rebounds and 3.8 assist. He was named as an All-Star for the North-South game and was the Lexington Roundball Classic and Poinsettia Classic All-Tournament team member this past season.
AJ Washington was the other basketball player who will be going to Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, about 50 miles southeast of Dallas. Washington was named to the All-State team and is a three-time selection to the All-Region team. He scored more than 1,400-career points and finished his career averaging 17.4 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game.
There were four swimmers in Turner Wiand, Dominic Impens, Steven Eldridge, and Jackson Hiilton. Eldridge will be going to Lenoir-Rhyne University. He was a five-year varsity letterman and earned All-Region and All-State honors, as well as ranked in the Top 10 in the state three times during his high school career. Additionally, he swims for the Upper Palmetto YMCA Rays, where he has competed for years at the state, regional, and Y National level, including the YMCA National Short Course Championships where he set personal bests in the 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 individual medley (IM) and 400 IM.
Wiand will be swimming at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County. He is a five-time All-Region swimmer and is a three-time All-State swimmer. He won eight state titles with Fort Mill as an individual and was a member of the 2023 state championship team. He holds four school records and state records in swimming.
Impens will be swimming at UNC-Wilmington. He is a nine-time Region champion and has eight state titles as an individual or relay member and was also part of the 2023 state champion team. He holds three team records and is also in the state record book as well. He has been swimming for the YMCA Rays for nine years.
Hilton is going to Columbia College and is a three-time Region champion. He has medaled in both the 400-yard free relay and 200-yard medley relay. He swims for the YMCA Rays and is a three-time state qualifier.
There were three runners in Marlee Cook, Sara Davis, and Mia Williams. Cook will be going to Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C. to run cross-country and track. She has run for Fort Mill for two seasons and was an All-Region and All-State runner in cross country in both years. She finished second as an individual in the state cross country meet and is part of two state champion teams for the Jackets.
Davis will be running both cross-country and track at Winthrop University. She is part of three-state team championships for Fort Mill and is a former All-Region performer.
Williams will be heading west to run for the University of Northern Colorado in Greenley, Colo., about 64 miles north of Denver, to run track. Williams also played basketball and flag football for the Jackets. She holds four school records and one relay record for track. She was part of the 2025 track teams’ state championship.
There were three soccer players in Gabriel Solis, Chase Fandel, and Gabriella Giarrizzi. Giarrizzi will be going to Wingate University in Wingate, N.C. She has been a member of the soccer program for four seasons and was All-Region in 2025. She has also played at the club level the past eight years.
Fandel will be heading to North Greenville University and earned an All-Star selection for the state. He has received a invite to the US men’s national team.
Solis will be heading to Providence College in Rhode Island. He is a second-year varsity player and has 12 goals on the season. He has also played club soccer with Charlotte FC Academy.
There was one baseball player in Caden Stevens who is going to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. He has pitched for the past two seasons for Fort Mill and was named to the All-Tournament team at the East Coast Invitational tournament.
There was one cheerleader in Randi Gay who is going to Clemson University. She has spent four years as a member of the competition cheer team for the Jackets. She has helped to lead Fort Mill to an Upper State championship and a top five finish at the state competition. She has cheered at an All-State level for four years.
There were two dancers that signed as well with Addison Blankinship and Charoline Chamberlain. Blankinship is going to the University of South Carolina and Chamberlain is going to Clemson.
