Fort Mill’s Zach Hughes returns a serve during his match against Spring Valley Thursday,

The Fort Mill tennis team dropped a Region 3-5A home match to a strong Spring Valley team.

Fort Mill lost 4-2 to drop to 5-3 on the season and 4-3 in the region.

Getting wins for the Jackets was No. 3 singles Arnav Meshram 7-6, 6-2 and at No. 2 doubles Case Simms and Lucas Coelho 6-2, 6-4.

Fort Mill did have two matches go to third set tie breaks at No. 4 singles Xander Pak and No. 5 singles Patrick Wright, but both came up short.

The Jackets will return to action after spring break next week starting things off at Clover on Tuesday, April 9.

The Nation Ford boys’ soccer team fell 4-0 on the road at Clover dropping them to 3-3 in Region 3-5A and 12-5-1 overall on the season.

The Nation Ford girls’ lacrosse team lost 15-7 on the road at Riverside as that dropped them to 8-4 overall on the season.

The Nation Ford tennis team improved to 8-2 overall and 5-2 in Region 3-5A play with a 6-0 win over Rock Hill. Winning for the Falcons were George Lynch 6-2, 6-4; Aryan Goel 6-4, 7-5; Zach Robinson 6-3, 7-6; Jaideep Tatineni 6-2, 6-0; Jacob Brancato 6-4, 6-1 and in doubles Owen McCullough and Davis Glasco 6-2, 6-4.

The Fort Mill baseball team beat 4-2 behind Tucker Gandy’s one-hitter on the road in Columbia. JB Walters and Jacob Patterson each had two hits and Thomas Ealey drove in two runs as Fort Mill improved to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in Region 3-5A play.

The Fort Mill softball team fell 19-3 to Blythewood on the road as they fell to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in Region 3-5A. Blythewood scored 12 runs in the fourth inning to help put the game away. Vicki Lott went 2-3 with two RBIs for Fort Mill to lead them.

The Fort Mill boys’ lacrosse team fell on the road to Boiling Springs 13-7 dropping them to 6-7 overall on the season.

The Fort Mill girls’ soccer team fell 2-0 at home to Blythewood and are now 2-4 in Region 3-5A and 4-9-2 overall on the season.

The Fort Mill boys’ soccer team beat Blythewood on the road 4-2 in penalty kicks to improve to 5-1 in Region 3-5A and 9-5-1 overall.
