
Both Fort Mill and Nation Ford baseball teams ended Friday with crucial Region 3-5A wins.
The Jackets beat the Rock Hill Bearcats 15-3 in game three to improve to 5-7 on the season and 4-4 in the region.
Fort Mill was led by Braden Richardson who went 4-5 with an RBI and JT Leonhardt who went 3-3.
The Jackets wasted no time in jumping out of a big lead as Ivan Conrad led the game off with a home run. Fort Mill scored three runs in the top of the first inning. Rock Hill added a run in the bottom of the first.
Fort Mill had an even better second inning with six runs on five hits and three walks to make it 9-1.
The Nation Ford baseball team had more of a challenge in game three of the series with Indian Land but lived up to it with a 10-4 win. The Falcons used a seven run sixth inning to power ahead. Lawson Smith went 3-4 to lead Nation Ford. Matt Scott got the win going the final three innings.
Both teams did a lot of damage in the first couple of innings. The Falcons would have a 3-2 lead after two complete, but Indian Land tied the game in the fifth inning at three.
Nation Ford improved to 9-4 overall and 3-3 in the region.
In softball, Nation Ford was victorious 7-5 on the road at Clover. The Falcons improved to 11-3 overall and 4-1 in the region. Paizlei Ross pitched a complete game. Jackie Knol and Maci Ladamus each had two hits for the Falcons.
The Catawba Ridge softball team beat Rock Hill by 10 runs in an 11-1 win in six innings. The Copperheads improved to 10-7 overall and 4-1 in Region 3-5A. Charli Burney led at the plate for Catawba Ridge going 2-3 with three RBIs. Taylan Sistare added two hits as well. Nora Mari got the win in the circle for the Copperheads allowing one run on six hits, while striking out five and walking two.
The Fort Mill softball team fell to Indian Land 10-2 at home collecting just four hits while making five errors. Fort Mill was led at the plate by Mallory Moore who had two of those hits. Fort Mill dropped to 6-8 overall and 1-2 in region play.

The Fort Mill boys’ soccer team fell to Indian Land 2-1 to fall to 2-3 in Region 3-5A and 5-4 overall.
The Fort Mill girls’ soccer team beat Indian Land on the road 5-0 to improve to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in Region 3-5A.
The Nation Ford girls’ soccer team fell 6-0 at home to Clover dropping them to 7-3 overall and 3-2 in Region 3-5A.
The Catawba Ridge girls’ soccer team beat Rock Hill 4-0 on the road to improve to 4-1 in Region 3-5A play and 10-1-2 overall.
The Catawba Ridge boys’ soccer team beat Rock Hill 5-0 at home to improve to 4-1 in Region 3-5A play and 7-4 overall.
