Four Fort Mill Post 43 players have been selected to the inaugural S.C. American Legion All-Star game.

The All-Star game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 23 at Sparrow Stadium on the campus of Francis Marion University.

Fort Mill High players Eli Craddock and Zach Jennings; along with Clover High players River Joye and Sam Czyz made the All-Star game from this year’s Post 43 senior team. The Fort Mill Post 43 coaching staff of Tom Skula, Jonathan Romano and Joel Reilly will be coaching one of the teams as well.

The two teams are made up of 36 total Legion players with 18 players being on both teams. The Fort Mill players along with the Fort Mill coaches will be part of the Stripes team that will be playing the Stars team coached by Charleston coaches.

The game is scheduled to be played after the conclusion of the senior state tournament also being played at Francis Marion University over July 21-23.

On the mound, Joye went 4-0 for Post 43 in five games started with a 2.20 ERA in 28.2 innings of work. He struck out 31 hitters. Czyz went 2-2 with a 2.63 ERA in 24 innings with 28 strikeouts. He also hit .325 with six RBIs in 19 games.

At the plate, Jennings hit .392 with 14 RBI and 20 hits in 16 games. Craddock hit .385 with one home run and 13 RBI as part of his 25 hits in 19 games.

Skula as head coach of Post 43 is the winningest coach in program history with 152 career wins. He is also currently the third longest tenured head Legion coach in the state.
