Swimming pool with lane markers ready for a meet

Both undefeated, something will have to give as Fort Mill and Nation Ford swim teams are on a collision course in the pool.

The rivals will meet Sept. 24 at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center as part of the Fort Mill Fallout – a tri-meet that includes Catawba Ridge as well. Nation Ford is now 9-0 and Fort Mill is 6-0. Both teams each swept tri-meets with Fort Mill beating Gaffney and Boiling Springs at home and Nation Ford beating Rock Hill and Blythewood on the road.

Fort Mill girls’ beat Boiling Springs 122.5 to 47.5 and Gaffney 136 to 24. The boys’ team beat Boiling Springs 108 to 60 and Gaffney 138 to 26. The Jackets won five of the six relay events. Individual winners for Fort Mill were:

Anna Kate Halligan – girls’ 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly

Olivia Corbi – girls’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke

Kyndall Brown – girls’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle

Drew Fey – boys’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle

Max Reichert – boys’ 100-yard freestyle

Piper Oh – girls’ 500-yard freestyle

Owen Fey – boys’ 100-yard backstroke

Jadyn Nelson – girls’ 100-yard breaststroke

Nation Ford boys’ beat Rock Hill 119 to 39 and Blythewood 87 to 83. The girls’ team for the Falcons beat Rock Hill 154 to 8 and Blythewood 115 to 55. Nation Ford won all six relay events. Individual winners for the Falcons were:

George Bujoreanu – boys’ 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke

Lucas Grigat – boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard freestyle

Julia Pou – girls’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke

Austin Lockhart – boy’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly

Emily Eaton – girls’ 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard freestyle

Sydney Fink – girls’ 500-yard freestyle

Victoria Cross – girls’ 100-yard backstroke

Sophia Bujoreanu – girls’ 200-yard individual medley
