Fort Mill’s Mason Jaeckli tees off at Tega Cay Golf Club during the Jackets match with Catawba Ridge.

The Fort Mill boys’ golf team edged Catawba Ridge by two strokes Thursday at the Tega Cay Golf Club.

The Jackets shot a 160, while the Copperheads posed a 162.

Mason Jaeckli led Fort Mill with a three over 39. Both David Harrigan and Cade Bettie shot a pair of 40s and Camden Norris shot a 41.

Catawba Ridge was led by OT Mitchell and Hunter Warren who both shot a 38. Niam Sethi shot a 42 and

Drew White shot a 44 to round out the Copperheads scoring.

The Copperheads will next face Nation Ford Wednesday, March 20 and are 2-1 on the season. Fort Mill heads to play at Springfield Golf Club against Nation Ford on Monday, March 18.

March 14 Roundup

The Nation Ford golf team split a three-way match with Indian Land and Northwestern. The Falcons shot a 156 as Indian Land shot a 154 and Northwestern shot a 183. Jake Schill led Nation Ford with a 35. Carter Smith and Jake Macheski both shot a 39 for the Falcons. Oliver Lapointe, Aiden Miller and Peyton Lindenberg all shot a 43 for Nation Ford.

The Catawba Ridge baseball team swept the series with South Pointe with a 10-0 win. Caden Glauber pitched a one-hitter and struck out 11 in five innings of work. Owen Noonan went 3-4 with three RBIs and two doubles. Jackson Mullen went 2-4 with three RBIs as well. The Copperheads are now 8-0 on the season and 3-0 in Region 3-4A.

The Nation Ford baseball team got a 3-0 win over Clover to avoid being swept in the season series. The win puts them at 4-4 on the season and 1-2 in Region 3-5A.  Miles Baker and Cooper Mitchell combined to throw a one-hitter and Jackson Childs went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI.

The Nation Ford tennis team fell to Spring Valley 4-2 to drop to 5-1 on the season and 3-1 in Region 3-5A.

The Nation Ford boys’ lacrosse team fell 14-13 in double overtime on the road at Clover to drop to 4-4 on the season and 4-1 in Region 3-5A.

The Nation Ford girls’ lacrosse team won 14-13 over Clover at home and improved to 3-2 in Region 3-5A and 5-2 on the season.

The Fort Mill girls’ lacrosse team beat Blythewood 17-0 to improve to 5-0 in Region 3-5A and 6-3 overall on the season.
