The Nation Ford girl’s tennis team remained perfect in Region 3-5A play finishing out the first half of their region schedule with a 4-2 win over rivals Fort Mill Tuesday.

Nation Ford is now 5-0 in region play and will start the second half of their region schedule later this week with a match against Clover at home on Thursday. The Falcons beat Fort Mill 4-2 and got key wins from three singles players.

Lauren Padgett won for Nation Ford at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win and Isabella Neff won at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-4. Eva Arnautovic won at No. 5 singles for the Falcons with a 6-4, 6-3 win. Nation Ford also won at No. 2 doubles with Alexa Brenner and Ansley McDonald getting a 6-0, 6-3 win.

For Fort Mill, Emily Rimmer won at No. 1 singles with a 7-5, 1-6, 10-7 three set victory and Adrianna Staniszewski won at No. 3 singles with a 7-5, 6-1 win.

The Jackets fall to 2-3 in the region and will host Blythewood on Thursday.

Volleyball

The Nation Ford volleyball team improved to 3-0 in the region with a 3-0 win over Rock Hill. The Falcons won 25-14, 25-18, 25-14 at home over the Bearcats. They will next travel to Spring Valley Thursday.

The Catawba Ridge volleyball team fell in five sets to Northwestern to drop their first Region 3-4A match of the season. The loss drops the Copperheads to 10-6 overall and 4-1 in their region. Catawba Ridge will next play South Pointe Thursday at home.

The Fort Mill volleyball team improves to 3-0 in the region with a 3-1 win over Spring Valley.  They improve to 12-5 overall on the season.
