Alex Ritz swims the 50-yard freestyle for Catawba Ridge during their meet Tuesday against Northwestern.

The Catawba Ridge swim team easily beat the Northwestern Trojans in a Region 3-4A dual meet Tuesday evening at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center.

The girls team won 108.5 to 61.5, while the boys won 99-71 for Catawba Ridge. The two teams split the relay events with the Copperheads winning three of the six as they took the boys’ 200-yard medley relay, the girls’ 200-yard freestyle relay and boys’ 200-yard freestyle relay events.

Individual winners for Catawba Ridge were:

Ethan Curtis – boys’ 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly

Makenzie Bell – girls’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke

Jake Root – boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke

Isabella Meehan – girls’ 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke

Savanna Becker – girls’ 500-yard freestyle

Alex Ritz – boys’ 50-yard freestyle

Emerson Girard – girls’ 200-yard freestyle

Golf

The Nation Ford girls golf team beat York 189-213 in a head-to-head match. Leading the way for the Falcons were Vivian Harris with a 41 and Piper Sabino with a 46.  Katie Griggs followed with a 50 and Drew Ruth finished with a 52.
