BOILING SPRINGS – While the season looks a little different than normal, when the calendar hits October it’s time for region play and that fact wasn’t lost on Boiling Springs and Nation Ford on Friday as the Bulldogs came away with a 45-28 win.

Boiling Springs jumped out to a 14-0 lead behind touchdowns from quarterback Jalen Dodd and running back Cam Mills.

Nation Ford got their first score of the game when quarterback Carson Black found a diving Ty Keaton for a 19-yard touchdown pass to put the score at 14-7. Boiling Springs responded with two more touchdowns to put the score at 28-7.

Black found Keaton again early in the third quarter this time on a five-yard touchdown pass to make the score 28-14. 

Boiling Springs added two more scores before Nation Ford’s Jerrick Foster returned a kickoff 97-yards for a touchdown. The Falcons added another score with under a minute left when Black found Steven McFadden for a 26-yard touchdown.

Carson Black finished the night with 274 yards passing and three touchdowns. Of those 274 yards passing 193 of them went to Steven McFadden. Dylen Fordham led the Falcons in rushing with sixty-four yards on the ground.

With the loss, Nation Ford drops to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in Region 3-5A.
