For the first time ever, there was a winner to the Upstate Invite besides Fort Mill High School.
Fort Mill has swept one of the largest high school meets held in the state at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center ever since they started hosting the event in 2021.
The meet held Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center featured 15 teams with the Fort Mill girls coming out on top with 327 points, while Mauldin won the boys’ meet with 272 points. Fort Mill was second in the boys meet with 219 points.
The Nation Ford girls were second with 199 points and the boys were third with 110 points. Catawba Ridge girls were sixth with 74 points and the Copperheads boys’ team was tied for ninth with 24 points.
The Jackets had the most combined points with 546 points, while Mauldin was second with 358 points. Nation Ford was third with 273 points overall and Catawba Ridge was seventh overall with 98 points.
Mauldin won three relay events with Fort Mill winning the girls’ 400-yard free and 200-yard medley. The Nation Ford girls won the 200-yard free relay.

Julia Corbi – girls’ 200-yard individual medley
Emma Michael – girls’ 500-yard freestyle
Wyatt Matz – boys’ 500-yard freestyle
Haruka Ono – girls’ 100-yard breaststroke
Individuals winning for Nation Ford were:
Levi Vaden – boys’ 100-yard freestyle
Kenna Zimmerly – girls’ 100-yard backstroke
Individuals winning for Catawba Ridge were:
Belle Gload – girls’ 50-yard freestyle
Amelia Meehan – girls’ 100-yard freestyle
