In the boys’ game, Nation Ford head coach Charles Brown said his team didn’t take Central of Pageland serious in the first half.
“It was much closer than I thought,” Brown said. “Our guys thought it would be a walk through. They didn’t play with heart in the first half. It was good that we were able to pull it out.”
Nation Ford opened the game up with a 7-0 run midway through the opening period to go up 11-4. In turn, Central then went on a run to keep it close, most of which was caused by Falcons’ turnovers.

Girls basketball
The Nation Ford girls’ basketball team cruised to a 69-13 win over Central to get their third win of the season. The win was the best one of the season for the Lady Falcons said head coach Kelly Bennett.
“We started rough and the teams we played were tough,” he said. “We needed that wake-up call. Once we put it all together, we are a good team. We just have to play four quarters.”
