James Knoll gets a hit for Fort Mill Post 43 Juniors during their game Thursday.

The Fort Mill Post 43 Junior team improved to 3-0 with another win over a Lancaster County team.

Post 43 beat the Post 31 Yellow Jackets 11-4 in their first complete seven inning game of the season.

Fort Mill picked up with Buford where they left off against Lancaster scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Alex Smith singled to get things started for Post 43. James Knoll and Michael Caropreso went back-to-back as well with singles. Connor Fowler would single and Jhett Nichols would drive in Fowler and Caropreso with a single of his own.

A 30-minute weather delay stalled a good start by Alex Downes, who threw two innings of hitless baseball and struck out two without allowing a walk.

Fort Mill started the scoring again in the third inning. Noah Wright tripled and was driven in by Nichols to push the score to 6-0 Post 43.

Things kept rolling for Post 43 in the fourth inning as Knoll led off with a single and Caropreso doubled. Knoll would score on a wild pitch, as Fowler would walk and Wright would get hit by a pitch to load the bases.

Zach Boutwell would get hit by a pitch to score a run. Cooper Diehl would then hit a two run double to score two more runs and push Post 43 to a 11-0 lead.

On the mound, Christian Soder would throw the third and fourth innings allowing no hits, while walking one and striking one out.

Post 31 got four runs back in the top of the fifth inning after getting two batters hit by pitches and walking two in the inning mixing in two outs along the way. Hunter Mills then hit a double for Post 31 scoring two more runs. Alex Catledge would drive in another run for Post 31 to rally back and make it 11-4.

Fort Mill threatened in the fifth and sixth innings, but was unable to score.

Wright came in for Post 43 to get the Buford team out in the seventh to close the game out. Post 43 used five pitchers and allowed just two this in the game, while walking four and striking out seven.

Post 43 scattered 12 hits in the game and was led by Knoll, who went 3-4 and Nichols, who went 1-2 with three RBIs. Diehl also had three RBIs in going 1-4.

The Post 43 Juniors play again Monday at Rock Hill Post 34.
