Luke Keller throws a pitch for Nation Ford during their game against Rock Hill.

After a loss in game two of their series Wednesday, the Nation Ford Falcons baseball team bounced back Thursday in a big way winning 15-0 in shortened game over the Rock Hill Bearcats.

The Falcons posted 15 runs in just three innings enforcing the mercy rule earlier than normal as Luke Keller pitched a three-inning, no-hitter for Nation Ford throwing just 32 pitches to accomplish the victory. Keller walked one and struck out one in the win.

Nation Ford got 10 hits in the three innings and Rock Hill made five errors in the shortened game. The win puts the Falcons at 9-6 overall on the season and 5-4 in Region 3-5A.

“We executed on the mound, on defense and at the plate,” said Nation Ford head coach Jeff Stack. “We were very aggressive. We had a plan and the kids executed. We didn’t play well last night (game two March 29). The kids came out today. We just kept going. They didn’t want it to stop. We showed some guts after last night.”

The Falcons’ Jacob Pettit and Paul Solari led Nation Ford, both going 2-3 at the plate. Eight of the nine starters for Nation Ford got a hit and Nick Chuttey went 1-4 with four RBIs. Both Miles Baker and Jackson Childs each had two RBIs as well in the game.

Nation Ford scored six runs in the first inning and six in the second inning, before adding three runs in the third to walk the game off.

Up next for Nation Ford is a spring break tournament at York Comprehensive High next week April 3-5.
