High School Basketball in Fort Mill

Hoops season is officially back this week with the Milltown Basketball Classic.

Both Nation Ford and Catawba Ridge High will serve as hosts for this year’s tournaments as the girl’s bracket will be played at Nation Ford and the boy’s bracket will be played at Catawba Ridge. The tournament runs from Monday, Nov. 22 through Wednesday, Nov. 24.

Besides all three local schools – Fort Mill, Nation Ford and Catawba Ridge, there is Piedmont, Riverside, Spartanburg, Parkwood and Rock Hill on the boy’s side of the bracket. On the girl’s side, visiting the area is Piedmont, Riverside, Parkwood, North Myrtle Beach and Rock Hill, to go along with the local girl’s teams.

Tipping things off Monday at Catawba Ridge as part of the boy’s bracket will be Nation Ford and Piedmont at 5 p.m. followed by Riverside and Spartanburg at 6:15 p.m. and then Parkwood and Fort Mill at 7:30 p.m., lastly the nightcap of Rock Hill and Catawba Ridge at 8:45 p.m.

In the girl’s tournament at Nation Ford, Rock Hill and Riverside tip off at 5 p.m. on day one, followed by Piedmont and Catawba Ridge at 6:15 p.m. and then Parkwood and Fort Mill at 7:30 p.m. Nation Ford will host North Myrtle Beach at 8:15 p.m. to end the first day of games.

Day two times for both sides of the brackets are the same as day one. On day three for both the boys’ and girls’ brackets, the seventh-place game is at 11 a.m., followed by the fifth-place game at 12:15 p.m. and the third-place game at 1:30 p.m. and finals at 2:45 p.m.

Based on how day one of the tournament goes, Nation Ford and Fort Mill girls could meet in the tournament on day two. Fort Mill and Catawba Ridge boys could also meet on day two of the boy’s tournament in their bracket.
