It was homecoming at Bob Jones Stadium with two winless teams played an even first half before Hartsville running game took control in the second half helped by two second half turnovers, to hold Fort Mill scoreless and win 30-13.

Hartsville was led by lead by Dariyan Pendergrass with 10 carries for 190 and two touchdowns. His first was on the Red Foxes second play from scrimmage. He went 62 yards around the left end untouched to give the Red Foxes a quick 7-0 lead.

Fort Mill was able to get on track a few series later behind the running of freshman Will Alvarado. He carried five straight plays picking up 41 yards. A couple of plays later quarterback Kyle Neibch, who finished 17-36 and 163 yards, found Joshua Sturgeon in the endzone from 14-yards out.

Hartsville responded with a drive of their own with Pendergrass scoring his second touchdown from 12 yards out.

Fort Mill countered and scored with eight seconds left in the half on Alvarado taking it the last two yards. Alvarado finished the game with 19 carries and 103 yards.

Next week the schedule gets no easier for the Yellow Jackets as they travel to Boiling Springs. Hartsville will host Myrtle Beach. The Jackets are 0-3 on the season and 0-2 in Region 3-5A.
