Fort Mill’s Avery Moriarty was one of the top finishers for the girls in their race against Nation Ford and Gaffney.

The Fort Mill boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams posted perfect scores against Nation Ford, Gaffney and Hawthorn Christian.

Fort Mill posted a 15 in both races running away from both teams without much effort. Nation Ford, who did not run their starters, came in second and Gaffney was third in both races. The Nation Ford boys had a 55 with Gaffney coming in third with 78. Hawthorn Christian finished with a 111.  In the girl’s race, Nation Ford was second with a 50. Gaffney and Hawthorn Christian didn’t race.

The Jackets were led by Devon Sibley in the boys’ race, who won the race in 17:05 and was followed by four teammates. Sibley was followed by Evan Wey in 17:15 and Alec Lootens in 17:25. Finishing fourth was Jackson Dawson in 17:48 and Clayton Jimison was fifth in 18:04.

Nation Ford’s first finisher was Charles Hall in 20:30 in 19th, followed by Roman Kauer, who was 20th in 20:33. The other top finishers for the Falcons were Kyle Nitsche at 21:21 in 29th, Logan Dayrit at 44th in 22:25 and Mason Kell in 46th in 22:34.

In the girl’s race, Angel Kravitz led Fort Mill winning in 20:52 with Alivia Cleveland coming in second for the Jackets in 21:12.  Elise Barradale was third in 21:21 and Avery Moriarty was fourth in 21:25, both for Fort Mill. Izzy Miserendino finished the scoring for Fort Mill in fifth in 23:44.

Nation Ford was led by Megan O’Flynn, who finished sixth overall in 23:48. She was followed by Annmarie Macheski in ninth in 24:19 and then Miku Pitman in 11th in 24:38. Mahmood Alaina came in 17th overall in 25:54 and Kailey Reagan finished 25th in 27:32.

Both Fort Mill and Nation Ford will be at the York County Championship this weekend at Northwestern High School.

Golf

The Nation Ford girls’ golf team beat Fort Mill in the final regular season match for both schools. Nation Ford shot a 209 and was led by a 42 from Vivian Harris. Katie Griggs was second for the Falcons with a 50 and Sara McCaskill was next with a 57. Fharren Coleman rounded out the scoring with a 59. Fort Mill shot a 217 and was led by a pair of 53s from Mackenzie Finn and Kristen Guernsey. Cayla Cappuzzo shot a 54 and Emily Broshious finished with a 57.
