Fort Mill’s Jack Dollyhigh swims the 200-yard freestyle during the Fort Mill Fallout swim meet Thursday.

The Fort Mill swim team swept their rivals in the pool as part of the Fort Mill Fallout beating both Nation Ford and Catawba Ridge Thursday at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center.

The Fort Mill boys won 114 to 56 over Nation Ford and 120 to 50 over Catawba Ridge. The Fort Mill girls won 113 to 55 over the Falcons and 140 to 30 over the Copperheads. Nation Ford boys beat Catawba Ridge 101-68, as did the girls winning 115-51 over the Copperheads.

Fort Mill won four of the relay events, with Nation Ford and Catawba Ridge each winning one of them as well. Individuals winning for the Jackets were:

Olivia Corbi – girls’ 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle

Jack Dollyhigh – boys’ 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle

Max Reichert – boys’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly

Anna Kate Halligan – girls’ 200-yard individual medley

Kyndall Brown – girls’ 50-yard freestyle

Josie Chandler – girls’ 100-yard butterfly

Zachary Nelson – boys’ 100-yard freestyle

Owen Fey – boys’ 100-yard backstroke

Cadyn Henson – girls’ 100-yard breaststroke

Those swimmers winning for Nation Ford were:

Julia Pou – girls’ 100-yard freestyle

Sophia Bujoreanu – girls’ 100-yard backstroke

And the lone swimmer winning for Catawba Ridge was Alexander Ritz winning the boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke.

Up next for Fort Mill and Nation Ford is the Region 3-5A meet at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center Saturday, Oct. 2. Their meet is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. that morning and the Region 3-4A meet is scheduled to happen later that day as well for Catawba Ridge, also at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center.

Tennis

The Catawba Ridge girls team improved to 9-1 overall on the season and 6-0 in Region 3-4A with a 6-0 sweep of Lancaster Thursday evening. Winning for the Copperheads were No. 1 Sarah Taylor 6-0, 6-0; No. 2 Claire Hivner 6-4, 6-1; No. 3 Aiyana Uter 6-1, 6-1 and No. 4 Sara Maleady 6-0 6-0. Also picking up wins to close out singles competition was Lilly L’esperance at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-0. Mallory McCart and Lucy Drew teamed to win in No. 2 doubles 6-1, 6-0.
