The Catawba Ridge track teams ran away with a sweep of the competition in their only home track meet of the season Wednesday.

Catawba Ridge boys scored 204 points getting the win as Northwestern was second with 37 points. Chester boys scored 14 points and Riverwalk scored six points. Catawba Ridge boys won 17 or 18 events.

Catawba Ridge swept all three relay events winning the 4×100 (43.46), the 4×400 (3:40) and the 4×800 (9:32).

The Copperheads’ Joshua Dobson won three events in the 100-meter (11.17), 200-meter (23.02) and 400-meter dash (50.10).

In the hurdles, Frank Laue won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.69 and Ryan Gongora won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:22, both for the Copperheads.

In the distance events, Jordan Kent won the 800-meter in 2:06 and Max Conetta won the 1,600-meter in 4:34 for Catawba Ridge. Aidan Rogers won the 3,200-meter for Catawba Ridge in 10:59.

In the boys’ field events, the Copperheads’ Ean Brown won the high jump clearing 6 feet and Gongora won the triple jump with a total of 38 feet, 3.84 inches.

Zachary Webster won the discus (142 feet, 8.8 inches) and the shot put (42 feet, 4 inches) for the Copperheads.

Catawba Ridge’s Jackson Rozelle won the pole vault at 10 feet, 11.89 inches and Parker Arnold won the javelin throw with a mark of 133 feet, 2 inches.

The Lady Copperheads scored 159 points to grab the win in the girls’ meet as Northwestern had 35 points, Riverwalk had 26 points, Chester had seven and Westminster Catawba had four.

Catawba Ridge won the 4×400 meter relay in 4:29 and the 4×800 meter relay in 11:23.

Nazaira Kirk won the 400-meter in 1:03 and Bella Cardozo won the 800-meter in 2:35 for Catawba Ridge.

The lone distance win for the Copperheads came from Zadie Wilkerson in the 3,200-meter in 12:50.

In the hurdles, Samirah Anderson won the 100-meter hurdles in 22.53 and Lily Lees won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:26.

The Lady Copperheads were strong in the field events as Lillian Brown won the high jump clearing 4 feet, 10.27 inches and Kylee Mathis won the long jump with a mark of 15 feet, 3.86 inches.

Catawba Ridge’s Sydney Pierce won the pole vault with a mark of 10 feet, 5.98 inches and Olivia Dubrow won both the discus (127 feet, 4.74 inches) and the shot put (36 feet, 2 inches).

Julia Miner won the javelin with a toss of 79 feet, 11 inches for Catawba Ridge as they won six field events.
