The Catawba Ridge Copperheads and Nation Ford Falcons girls’ golf teams both had top 10 finishes in the 5A Division II state golf championship.

The two-day event played at the Hackler Course on the campus of Coastal Carolina University culminated on Tuesday, Oct. 28. TL Hanna won the state championship with a total of 642, some 12 strokes over Conway, which finished second.

The Lady Copperheads finished sixth overall with a 682 (337-345) and Nation Ford was 10th with a 750 (378-372).

Catawba Ridge was led by Brooke Mehlhouse and Anjali Peddisetty, who both shot a 163 over the two days. Mehlhouse had rounds of 79 and 84, while Peddisetty had rounds of 81-84.

Following their scores was a 177 (88-89) from Ella Rose Hill and a 179 (79-90) from Charley Barron-Haggarty.

Nation Ford was led by Piper Sabino who shot a 167(86-81) over the 36-holes. Mary Kate Quinlan finished with a 183 (94-89) and Campbell Reiking shot a 197 (95-102). Brooke Parker finished the scoring for the Lady Falcons with a 203 (103-100).

Fort Mill High School was represented by two individuals. Claire Collins shot a 177 (86-91) and Lauren Venino shot a 214 (108-106) over the tournament.
