The Catawba Ridge girls’ golf team won a wet version of the Milltown Showdown at Fort Mill Golf Club over rivals Nation Ford and Fort Mill.

Catawba Ridge shot a 343 as a team in the 18-hole match, with Fort Mill shooting a 364 and Nation Ford finishing with a 372. The Copperheads improved to 11-0 on the season with the win.

The Copperheads were led by Anjali Peddisetty with a 78. She was followed with an 81 from Ella Rose Hill and an 89 from Jordan Lyons. Charley Barron-Haggarty finished with a 95 to end the scoring for Catawba Ridge.

Fort Mill was led by an 80 from Claire Collins. Lauren Venino finished with a 90 and Campbell Grant had a 93 for the Jackets. Skylar Sartwell finished with a 101 for Fort Mill as well.

Nation Ford was led by an 86 from Piper Sabino and a 91 from Mary Kate Quinlan. Brooke Parker shot a 97 and Layla Wilson finished the scoring for the Falcons with a 98.

Catawba Ridge will play in the HV3 tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Gaston County. Up next for Fort Mill will be an away match against York Comprehensive at Spring Lake Country Club on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Nation Ford will play York first on Sept. 30 at their home course of Springfield Golf Club.
